The Children of Africa Leadership and Values Development Initiative (CALDEV), a Non-Governmental Organisation, founded by Representative Bamidele Salam is organising the National Children Leadership Conference to discuss the plight of the Nigerian child.
The gathering which will comprise of multi-sectoral stakeholders will also fashion out innovative strategies on how to improve on the prevailing situation of their existence.
CALDEV organizes series of programmes to build up leadership capacities among children, foster positive interaction among children of different cultural, religious, economic and social background as well as provide a platform for a National Dialogue around issues affecting children in Nigeria.
As a follow-up to the National Children’s Day held in 2021, the CALDEV this Conference between Friday 17th and Tuesday 21st November, 2023 at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja.
With the theme: Rebuilding Nigeria through investment in Children’s Education, Welfare and Security, the event will feature over 500 children from the 36 states of the federation and the FCT.
Some of the activities lined up for the conference are: Leadership training; children’s dialogue; Children financial literacy session; panel discussions; quiz competition; children films and books exhibitions; arts exhibitions, National Children Leadership Ideas Contest (N-CLIC); Books presentation and awards as well as other side attractions.
