CALDEV is a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) and non-profit organisation, established to teach and mentor children and youths for development of a brighter and better future. It is founded in 2015 by Representative Bamidele Salam, current member of the National Assembly representing Ede north, Ede south, Egbedore and Ejigbo Federal Constituency of Osun State and few professionals and social development advocates with a commitment to training and mentoring young Africans to become change agents. The organization is also interested in tackling issues which affect the welfare of the African child.
It was incorporated in 2016 and officially inaugurated on 2nd October 2017. The Grand Patron of the NGO is His Royal Majesty, the Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi.
Generally, CALDEV is a center engrossed in the task of developing the potentials in children and youths as future leaders in a manner as to enable them play good leadership roles that aims to develop themselves, family and their nations.

We are committed to training and mentoring young Africans to become social change agents as well as tackling all issues which affect their welfare.
OUR AIMS & OBJECTIVES
- To support, promote and propagate good morals/leadership values among the youths through skill acquisition and capacity building.
- To undertake publication of books, manuals, journals, films, documents and other educational materials for children of different age group.
- To teach citizenship and leadership principles, values, ethics, norms and life skills to children in African schools and communities.
- To organize programmes, events and activities with a view to raising effective and responsible leaders among children.
- To provide local and international skills, values and leadership training opportunities for children.
- To improve access of the girl-child to educational and leadership opportunities and significantly reduce the number of out of school children while encouraging enrollment, retention and transition among the poor and socially disadvantage.
- To improve awareness on health education, safety, climate change, financial management and volunteer service among children.
- To offer assistance of physically challenged, children with special needs and establish safe spaces for orphans and vulnerable children to drive inclusive education.
- To offer counseling services to parents, guardians and children.
- To offer training and capacity building programmes for teachers, children-minders and other categories of workers involved in the education and training children.
- To assist schools, communities and training centers with essentials tools for effective child-care and generally enhance quality of education in schools.
- To advocate, promote and support the legislative, stakeholders and other policy makers in enacting and effectively implement necessary legislation to protect children from abuse, exploitation and harmful cultural practices as well as achieve other relevant goals.
- To promote and provide mentorship to young persons in their academics, career, gifts and talents.
- To partner with other NGOs and community based organizations (CB0s) both locally and internationally.
