Our Annual Program Calendar

Walking in Unity, Giving in Purpose

The year begins with the CALDEV Charity Walk, a symbolic and impactful event that brings together volunteers, children, youth advocates, donors, and community stakeholders to raise awareness and support for vulnerable children.

Key Objectives:

  • Raise funds and resources for CALDEV’s outreach and education programs
  • Create public awareness around issues affecting children’s rights and well-being
  • Foster community spirit and intergenerational engagement

Event Highlights:

  • Themed charity walk through major cities or communities
  • Music, dance, and motivational speeches
  • On-site donation drives (books, food, clothing, educational materials)
  • Community health checks and fitness sessions

This event sets the tone for the year—uniting hearts and hands for social change.

Shaping Minds, Raising Leaders

The CLAP initiative runs throughout the school term, targeting pupils and students at primary and secondary levels. It is CALDEV’s foundational education program focused on values-based leadership development and moral character formation.

Core Components:

  • School-based leadership and character education workshops
  • Interactive storytelling, drama, role-playing, and value games
  • Classroom integration with teacher support kits
  • “Leadership Star of the Month” recognitions
  • Sessions on personal discipline, respect, honesty, empathy, and responsibility

Outcomes:
Students are equipped to lead by example in their schools and communities, cultivating a new generation of responsible and principled African leaders.

Speaking for the Voiceless, Protecting the Innocent

Held in commemoration of Children’s Day (May 27th), this program shines a spotlight on child rights issues, empowering children and youth to understand, claim, and advocate for their rights.

Program Activities:

  • Child rights awareness rallies and school visits
  • Community sensitization on abuse prevention and child protection
  • Radio, TV, and social media advocacy campaigns
  • Creative contests (essays, poetry, art) on children’s rights
  • Engagement with government, law enforcement, and CSOs on child protection policies

Key Message:
Every child has the right to be protected, heard, educated, and empowered.

Guiding Dreams, Building Futures

During the mid-year break, CAMP offers selected children and youth the opportunity to engage in a structured mentorship experience. This program connects participants with professionals, educators, and trained mentors who provide personal guidance, career insight, and life-coaching support.

Program Elements:

  • One-on-one and group mentorship sessions
  • Career exploration workshops and excursions
  • Goal setting and personal development planning
  • Peer mentorship and storytelling circles
  • Closing event with certificates and showcases

CAMP helps young people navigate life’s critical stages with confidence and clarity.

Empowering Hands, Shaping Destinies

Held during the long school holiday, the Skill Acquisition Program provides children and teenagers with hands-on training in practical, income-generating skills. It also introduces financial literacy, innovation, and entrepreneurship at an early age.

Skills May Include:

  • Creative arts: beadwork, fashion design, painting, crafts
  • ICT: basic coding, graphics, digital tools
  • Agriculture: urban farming, poultry, recycling
  • Business skills: branding, budgeting, savings culture

Benefits:
Participants leave with practical knowledge, startup kits (where available), and an entrepreneurial mindset to help them become self-reliant and innovative contributors to society.

Igniting Voices, Elevating Youth Leadership

This prestigious annual conference is a platform for young leaders across Nigeria (and beyond) to share ideas, network, and discuss innovative solutions to the challenges facing children and their communities. It brings together pupils, students, educators, advocates, policymakers, and youth influencers.

Conference Features:

  • Keynote speeches from national thought leaders and child advocates
  • Panel discussions and youth-led dialogue sessions
  • Workshops on civic engagement, SDGs, leadership ethics, and innovation
  • Talent showcases, debates, and awards
  • Resolutions and communiqués submitted to policy stakeholders

Theme: Each year’s theme focuses on relevant issues—ranging from inclusive education and climate action to youth participation in governance.

NCLC is where leadership takes root—and where young voices are not only heard but empowered to act
